VS cognac is the cognac in which the youngest cognac added to the "assemblage" is at least two years old. The number of years indicates the length of aging in oak barrels. Many VS cognacs are blended with older cognacs to create different flavors. The age of a cognac is determined by the youngest cognac in the blend. On average, VS cognacs are around four to five years old.
